#1 I know this really doesn't matter (I beat match everything by ear) but I'm curious - what is the real bpm of most current dnb, 80-ish or 170-ish? Everything on Beatport that I've gotten has been around 87 but on my computer it thinks half of them are 87 and the other half 174 (and other people online also say dnb has to be above 150) .

Dubstep is not 140 BPM. I don't know why that number gets thrown around, but most dubstep is from the 70's to 100, with most falling in-between 80 and 90. In many songs it's often for a double-time break to happen, at which point it will reach 140~200, respectively, but it shouldn't be timed that way. n_b. Screamers are usually 130-150 BPM.

Yes, beatmatch by ear, but to answer your question: bpm for DnB in software is often halved. Just multiply by 2 so they're all in the 170-180 range.
